When sheets are created for each selected Canvas course, the name of the sheet is limited to 50 characters. Many times, when Canvas courses are auto generated by an institution, their names will exceed 50 characters. Courses that have more than 50 characters are still usable, however, the course name will cut at 50 characters. This may result in some identifying information in the course name being missing. To circumvent this issue, you can give your Canvas courses a nickname. Instructions on how to give courses a nickname is below.
Open your Canvas site and go to the Dashboard page.
Find the three dots in the upper right hand corner of one of your courses and click on it
In the nickname field, fill in a new name for your course.
Course nicknames will not affect course level naming and are not visible to students. Nicknames are only visible to you but will show up in ALEKS2Canvas Gradebook.
