If you receive a Server Error message, it means there was a problem communicating with Google Classroom but the issue was on Google Classroom’s end. Wait several minutes and try again. If the issue persists try contacting your site admin if you have one.
The issue can also be caused by not having the correct permissions for your Google Classroom course(s).
